The present invention relates to an electrical energy generator comprising a kinetic energy accumulator arranged to be driven in rotation about an axis and having a drum mounted on this axis of rotation, which drum has an outer surface. Such an electric power generator is known from EP 3 219 487. The known electric power generator has the function, inter alia, of ensuring a continuous supply of electric power in places such as, for example, hospitals, airports. or bank management centers, where an interruption in the supply of electricity could have serious consequences. The generator is coupled to a combustion engine in order to drive it in the event of loss of the electrical energy supply network. The drum, which is part of the accumulator, generally rotates at a high speed around its axis of rotation. The accumulator makes it possible to store energy and thus to restore the energy stored during the starting time of the combustion engine. This way we can prevent a power outage from causing considerable damage. A disadvantage of the known accumulator is that its rotation at high speed will cause a fairly high volume of ambient air to be entrained by the rotating drum. Air entrainment is induced by the friction forces between the surface of the drum and the surrounding air, a phenomenon known as "skin friction". This causes considerable friction on this outer surface of the drum. This friction will slow down the rotation of the drum and thus cause a loss of energy which can amount to up to 25% of the energy stored in the drum. The object of the invention is to provide an electrical energy generator in which the energy losses caused by friction are significantly reduced. To this end, an electrical energy generator according to the invention is characterized in that the external surface of the drum is provided BE2017 / 0173 -2 a layer composed of a substance capable of reducing the friction caused by the ambient air during the rotation of the drum around its axis of rotation. The presence of this layer will cause the friction force to be greatly reduced and, as a result, significantly less ambient air will be entrained by the external surface of the rotating drum. Thus the friction will be reduced and therefore also the loss of energy caused by this friction exerted on the drum. Preferably the substance is polytetrafluoroethylene. The latter is not only easily applicable on the drum, for example by spraying, but it also resists well the heat produced during this rotation of the drum. The invention will now be described in more detail. The electric power generator according to the invention comprises a drum arranged to be mounted on an axis of rotation. This axis of rotation is coupled via a coupling mechanism to a combustion engine, which thus can cause the drum to rotate. The drum generally rotates at a high speed around its axis of rotation, for example of the order of 2,500 to 4,000 revolutions / minute. The drum has an outer surface. The accumulator is preferably a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). The function of the accumulator is to provide a continuous supply of electrical energy to places such as hospitals, airports or bank management centers, where an interruption in the supply of electrical current could have serious consequences. As soon as a power cut is noticed the engine is started and coupled to the drum. The rotation of the drum allows its energy to be restored during the time the combustion engine starts. The drum usually rotates at high speed to quickly store and supply energy. This high speed will cause a fairly large volume of ambient air to be entrained by the rotating drum. This is caused by the friction of the air on the BE2017 / 0173 -3 outer surface of the drum and thus cause considerable friction on this outer surface of the drum. This friction brakes the rotation of the drum and thus causes a loss of energy which can amount to 25% of the energy stored in the drum. The drum of the accumulator according to the invention has its outer surface provided with a layer composed of a substance capable of reducing the friction caused by the ambient air on the surface of the drum during its rotation about its axis of rotation. . The presence of this layer will cause the friction force to be significantly reduced and less ambient air will be entrained by the outer surface of the rotating drum. Thus friction losses will be reduced. The layer composed of a substance capable of reducing the friction caused by the ambient air is preferably applied by spraying uniformly on the external surface of the drum. The advantage of uniform application is that it avoids the creation of turbulence in places where the layer is not uniform. Preferably the substance is polytetrafluoroethylene. This latter substance will increase the slip of the air on the outer surface and thus reduce the adhesion and friction on this surface. This will have the consequence that the ambient air will be able to adhere much less easily to the surface thus reducing the friction caused by this air and consequently the loss of energy caused by this friction.
